France 1982 World Cup campaign kits

The successful 1982 World Cup qualifying campaign kits made in France by Adidas ventex. These pinstripes design was worn up until the 1982 World Cup finals when the inset neck was then removed. The home design as seen was worn on mid 1982 season but the away kits was used earlier.

It was a classic Adidas trefoil ventex in style, a simple wing-collar and a white/red/blue three-stripe design both featured on this France strip. As usual the stripes color follow the national insignia.

France 1982 World Cup kits

During the season under Michael
Hidalgo, France flourished, mainly due
to the accolades of playmaker/captain
Michel Platini, who, alongside Jean Tigana,
Alain Giresse, and Luis Fernández
performance markedly improved and
formed "carré magique" ("Magic Square"),
which would haunt opposing defenses
beginning at the 1982 FIFA World Cup,
where France reached thesemi-finals
losing on penalties to rivals West Germany.
The semi-final match-up is considered one
of the greatest matches in World Cup history and
was marred with controversy.


As a specific detail, these France world cup shirts weren't made by Adidas Ventex France,
featuring the 80s trends pinstripes on both shirt and shorts.

Belgium WC82 team kits

The Belgium national team still with the England sportswear Admiral for their World Cup 1982 tournaments kits. Looked similar as the European Qualifying 82 away kits., the different with the v-neck collar for the new World Cup kits.

Belgium with all red home kit's combination worn in 4 match : June 19th againts El Salvador, 22nd June againts Hungary, 28th June againts Poland (Second round) and 1st July againts Soviet Union in the last Second round match.

The team play the home kits with the white away shorts during the team opening match againts Argentina 13th June 1982.

The white away kits, however make no appearance at the tournament.

The 1980s and early 1990s are generally considered the strongest period of the national team. Under the lead of Guy Thys, who coached more than 100 official games, Belgium established a reputation of being a physical, well-organized team that was hard to play against. The team's rigorous organization was reinforced

by several world-class players such as goalkeeper Jean-Marie Pfaff, right-back Eric Gerets, midfielder Jan Ceulemans, and playmaker Enzo Scifo.

Argentina 82 World Cup football shirt and kits

Argentina's first round group C contained Belgium, Hungary and El Salvador. Argentina played Belgium in the opening game of the 1982 cup in Barcelona. The Catalan crowd was eager to see their new world-record signing Diego Maradona in action, but it was Belgium's Erwin Vandenbergh who stole the show with his matchwinning goal after the hour - the first goal scored in a World Cup opener since 1962. Coach Menotti was criticized for keeping faith in too many of the champions from 1978, but Argentina picked themselves up and progressed alongside Belgium despite the defeat. Menotti's men had nothing in store though when they came up against Italy and Brazil in Phase 2. They finished both games with ten men.

Czechoslovakia-1982 World Cup adidas football kits

Czechoslovakia great adidas vintage design as worn at World Cup 1982 where the side finished third of a very tough Group D after defeats to England and drew with Kuwait and France. Czech adidas football kits with red shirt and classic white adidas three-stripe trim for team home strip. The Czech kits has the no.5 on indicating it was the shirt of defender player Jozef Barmos and no.11 was the shirt of midfielder player Zdenek Nehoda.

World Cup 1982, New Zealand team shirt and uniform

New Zealand national team kits with the adidas sportswear for World Cup 1982. Their team badge logo patch at the shoulder of shirt only and New Zealand team use standard adidas 80's font on the back of shirt only. Austria shirt/kits World Cup 1978 and 1982

World Cup 1982 in Spain, Austria still with the Puma white shirt and black short. Austria in Group 2 of four teams West Germany, Chile and Algeria. Beat Chile 1-0 and Algeria 2-0, Austria and Germany met again, in the last game of Round 1, after the other two teams in their group had played a day earlier. A score by German striker Hrubesch after 10 minutes meant that both teams would advance if the 0-1 would be the final score, and thus both teams defended this result for 80 minutes in what was an exceptionally boring game, called the "de:Nichtangriffspakt von Gijón", the non-aggression pact of Gijon. Austria was eliminated by losing to France in the Second round group stage of three teams.

Austria the only team with Puma kits at World Cup 1978 in Argentina, they make biggest surprise of all came in Group 3, where Austria finished ahead of Brazil. The Austrians beat Spain 2-1in their first group match and Sweden 1-0 with Krankl on the score list. Brazil needed to beat Austria in their final group game to be sure of progressing to the second round, and managed a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Roberto Dinamite. Brazil and Austria thus finished with the same number of points and the same goal difference, but Austria won the group by virtue of having scored more goals.

In Second round Austrian in Group A, they had lost two games and would almost surely finish last in their group of four teams . The Netherlands got off to a flying start by thrashing Austria 5-1, The Italians beat Austria 1-0, and West Germany were surprisingly beaten by Austria 2-3 which marked their end as World Champions.

Northern Ireland also qualified for the 1982 World Cup, again reaching the quarter-finals after topping the first stage group, having beaten Spain, the hosts 1-0. In 1982, Norman Whiteside became the youngest ever player in the World Cup finals, a record that still stands.

In 1976 Spain was selected as host of the 1982 FIFA World Cup. This edition of the World Cup featured twenty-four teams for the first time. Expectations were high for Spain as the host nation under coach José Santamaría. In the group stage, Spain was drawn into group 5 with Northern Ireland, Yugoslavia, and Honduras. With pressure to perform well, Spain struggled through their group. On their first day of competition, Spain managed only a 1-1 draw with unfancied Honduras. They picked up momentum with an impressive 2-1 victory over Yugoslavia but were defeated 1-0 by Northern Ireland. Despite the defeat, Spain progressed to the second round. Spain was drawn into group B in the second round with West Germany and England. Spain's campaign ended when they were defeated by West Germany 2-1 and drew 0-0 with England. As disappointment swept the country, coach José Santamaría was sacked.

Comeback after missing from WC 1978 tournaments, but manage to stay in first round only.
The federation and football overall was disrupted by World War II. After the war, a socialist federation was formed and the football federation reconstituted. It was one of the founding members of the UEFA and it organized the 1976 European Championship played in Belgrade and Zagreb. The national team participated in eight World Cups, four Euros, and even won Olympic Games football tournament in the 1960 (they also finished second three times and third once).
Dragan Džajić holds the record for the most national team caps at 85, between 1964 to 1979. The best scorer is Stjepan Bobek with 38 goals, between 1946 and 1956.

Chile World Cup 82, Espana

At España 82, the Chileans performed poorly with an ageing team in which Carlos Caszely and the 35-year-old central defender Elias Figueroa were still the main men. Guided by coach Luis Santibañez they lost their first game 1-0 to Austria in Oviedo, Walter Schachner scoring the only goal midway through the first half. Caszely missed a penalty soon afterwards.
Chile were then beaten 4-1 in Gijón by a Karl-Heinz Rummenigge-inspired West Germany, with goalkeeper Mario Osbén making a couple of costly errors; Gustavo Moscoso grabbed a late consolation goal. Finally, against Algeria, Chile were overrun in the first half and went in at half-time 3-0 behind, but managed to save some face with second-half goals from Miguel Neira and Juan Carlos Letelier
