Sport Club Internacional from Brazil serie A team, became the first Brazilian team to win the cup, after beating Estudiantes in the final in 2-1 aggregate after extra times.

Internacional star symbolizing the Copa Libertadores title was moved down between the four stars representing the club’s national honours.
