Ukrainian Premier League team FC Dynamo Kyiv or Dynamo Kiev founded in 1927. Dynamo has won twelve league titles, nine Ukrainian Cups, one UEFA Super Cup and two UEFA Cup Winners' Cups. Additionally, they have also won 13 USSR Championships, 9 USSR Cups, and 3 USSR Super Cups. The Dynamo home ground, Lobanovsky Dynamo Stadium with capacity 16.900 is situated in a picturesque park located in the centre of the Kyiv, close to the Dnieper River bank. Dynamo Kiev famous traditional colours are white and blue sash was added to the shirts, but beginning 2008-2009 season. It was replaced by a white kit with shirt having thin blue vertical stripes, for the first time in over 50 years a Dynamo has worn such a pattern. Blue is still a main colour of the Dynamo away kit.
Dynamo shirts current sponsors, Adidas and Ukrainian bank Privat Bank. Two embroidered golden star was added at the top of the Dynamo badge in order to celebrates Dynamo two success. First in 2003 after a Dynamo won their 10th domestic trophy a golden star and second star was added to the logo in 2007 during celebrations of Dynamo's 80 year anniversary.
In the UEFA Champions League 2008–09 group stage Dynamo was grouped with Porto, Arsenal FC and Fenerbahche in group G. Sadly the team finished in 3rd place in group G, behind Porto and Arsenal with 6 games won 2 over, draw 2, lost 2 and were unable to progress to the knockout phase of the competition.
