Italy FIFA Confederations Cup 2009 kits

With winning the World Cup 2006, Italy national football team qualified for the Confederations Cup, held in South Africa in June 2009. Italy football team have been drawn with Brazil, USA and Egypt in Pot B of the Confederations Cup. Italy won their opening match, against USA, 3-1, but defeats to Egypt (1-0) and Brazil (3-0) meant that they finished third in the group on goals scored, and were eliminated before the semi-finals.

The new Italy 2009 confederation cup kit, manufactured by Puma is officially unveiled by the FIGC. Italy’s new home shirt is a light blue shirt, dark brown with light blue socks and dark brown or white shorts. This original colour choice is to honour the early 30's Italian National team, trained by Vittorio Pozzo (World champion '34, '38, Olympic gold in '36).' The Italy FA logo is bigger than the usual shirt logo and is placed on the top left part of the chest. The popular Italy tricolor (green, white, red strip) runs down the right part of the front side of the shirt
