Adidas Finale Rome Official Match Ball

Another new range for my blog articles, the official ball design collection. These time contribute by my fellow countryman, Z_In. He's done a lot design stuff for PES forum comunity. For their first awesome design is official Match Ball for the UEFA Champions League Final between Manchester United and Barcelona in Rome.On May 27th, 2009, adidas unveiled the Official Match Ball for the UEFA Champions League 2008/2009 Final in Rome: the adidas “Finale Rome”. A name for the Italian capital is hosting its second UEFA Champions League Final (following 1996) in Stadio Olimpico di Roma, Italy’s biggest sports arena. The colours of the adidas “Finale Rome” match ball are inspired by the traditional Roman colour burgundy represents the deep desire of the players for the Champions League trophy (represented by the Roman gold detailing around the stars), which they will compete for in the final in May. The paneling of the ball depicts images of ancient Roman athletes and gladiators; moreover, each image represents a Roman values such as speed, teamwork, justice and power are featured in each star honouring the most important European club game.

The adidas “Finale Rome” ball features the innovative surface structure, PSC-Texture. This surface structure allows players to control and direct the ball perfectly in all weather conditions. The PSC- Texture consists of a sophisticated and extremely fine structure on the ball's outer skin that guarantees optimum grip between ball and boot. Due to the usage of this material, the ball texture feels like goose bumps. In addition, like the “EUROPASS”, the adidas “Finale Rome” is constructed out of 14 panels using revolutionary Thermal Bonding Technology ( engineered with 14 panels bonded together creating rounder shape than conventional footballs that have more panels). The adidas “Finale Rome” ball weight 340g.
